Condominiums in Berlin are becoming more and more expensive. In the standard residential areas, the average prices have climbed by 12.1 percent to 1.850 EUR/sqm. Additionally in the preferred residential areas the prices have increased by 13.6 percent to 2.500 EUR/sqm. The real estate association (IVD) measures a proper "Run" in Mitte. In the standard locations the prices increased by 29.7 percent to now 2.400/sqm. In the preferred residential areas, in which up to 3.300/sqm are paid, an increase of 37.5 percent is recorded – of course the new building is more expensive. Katja Giller, Chairman Member of IVD Valuation Committee, predicts: “Districts like Friedrichshain -Kreuzberg, Steglitz-Zehlendorf and Pankow becoming increasingly popular. The consistent development of these neighborhoods will lead to further price increases in the near future.”
